LAURYN HUTCHINSON

Lauryn Hutchinson is a retired defender for the Trinidad & Tobago Senior National Team, where she represented her country at the highest levels for 12 years, earning 37 caps and scoring five goals. Her career highlights include competing in two Pan American Games, three CONCACAF World Cup Qualifiers, and two Olympic Qualifiers, along with a spot on the “Starting XI Team of the Decade.”

Lauryn holds a UEFA B Coaching License from the Football Association of Wales and is currently pursuing her UEFA A license. After a distinguished playing career, Lauryn transitioned into coaching, blending her vast experience to inspire the next generation of players.

She played collegiate soccer at Virginia Commonwealth University (VCU), under former USWNT player Tiffany Roberts Sahaydak, while also earning her Master's degree from the Center for Sport Leadership at VCU. Lauryn has since returned to VCU as the Head Coach of the Women's Soccer team, aiming to merge her playing and coaching expertise to help her athletes achieve their fullest potential.

Lauryn is currently part of the USL PPR Program with USL League One’s Richmond Kickers, an initiative that supports top BIPOC and women coaches in achieving professional aspirations through a structured, pro-level environment.

As the Founder & CEO of UNKNWN Athlete, based in Richmond, VA, Lauryn fosters a professional yet inclusive space for athlete development. She also oversees the UK Academy, guiding players from U5 through college and into professional pathways, with a focus on holistic growth both on and off the field.

Known for her vibrant personality and unparalleled work ethic from a young age, Lauryn instills gratitude, discipline, and the drive for continuous improvement in her athletes. Her mission is to inspire them to redefine their potential, embrace self-improvement, and appreciate each step of their journey.

    Lauryn played professionally and played internationally for Trinidad & Tobago’s Womens National Team for seven years. She has coached at all levels for thirteen years and six of them being at the high-level level possible.
